Today I was at the Startersdag, it is an event organized by the dutch Chamber of Commerce and it gives the opportunity for starting companies to meet companies who can help them, like the Tax Office, Notaries, Social Service, banks and accountants.

We (as in KovoKs) were there to promote our company. We choose to promote open source a bit, so we set up a computer with TurboCash, OpenOffice.org.

Some things I found interesting. Our one meter Tux we setup at the roof of our booth was well known. People actually made the link to Linux.
I told some people that software is free to use, their reactions when I told them that were… weird. As in they could not believe it was free and I think they thought it was rubbish. I did not expect that to happen, I think it would have been easier to sell the product to them, when they should have paid for it ;-)

We had some nice contact with some companies, which might lead to some business, so I think we can repeat that next year. I think KDE should be represented there as well, so maybe we can set that up as well.
